Dedication of Calvary Baptist Field and Whiffle Ball Game

July 16, 2005

On July 16th, 2005 Calvary Baptist Field was dedicated with a family Whiffle Ball game, kids against the adults.  Before the game like all good Baptists we enjoyed fellowship with food!  Hamburgers, hotdogs, deviled eggs, macaroni and cheese, baked beans, chips, dip and more were on the menu and on the shirt of many a diner.  The dedication celebration was a wonderful time for our families to come together and honor the memory of two former dedicated members of Calvary Baptist church, Everett E. Hodson and Irma Henninger who bequeathed the money to build the field.  We were able to get the game in before the thunderstorm came and by the way, the kids won the game something like 37 to 6 but who was really counting?
