Vacation Bible School 2005

Calvary completed it's VBS week on July 22, 2005, our theme was Jerusalem Market Place. Each day the kids would first gather for singing, giving (offering for starving children in North Korea) and prayer then it was off to the market place where the past comes alive for everyone. This was an inter-generation, interactive event which took one back to the Jerusalem market place during the last week of Jesus' life. Roman soldiers, the tax collector and everyday folk were present each day in the market place and everyone got to visit all the different shops at the market place and all were given the opportunity to weave baskets and mats, taste ancient spices, make candy, musical instruments, bake bread, cast pottery, carpentry, jewelry, visit the petting zoo and attend the ancient Synagogue school while experiencing the hustle and bustle of the Jerusalem market place. In the market place the news of Jesus spread very quickly and the shop keepers were all very eager to hear from the kids just what was the latest news about Jesus and His disciples.
