CALVARY CONNECTION
FROM PJ’S HEART
My dear friends, lets focus on ministry and the things that God would have us to accomplish. Why? Because he has been sooooo good to us. This has been a very good year for the church. We have had 20 people make decisions for Christ and this church. Our average worship attendance is 159. Our Sunday School continues to grow in attendance while our Wednesday night turnout continues to go in the right direction, as too! It’s growing! J God has blessed our church with faithful givers so our budget continues in a positive way. We’ve hired an outstanding staff member, Tim England who is already demonstrating his worth. Have you noticed the many guests who are attending our church each week, too?
Our church is blessed we are moving in the right direction.
The four goals I created as the focal point at the beginning of the year were, 1) Maturing Disciples,2) Focused on God’s Word,
3) Church Growth and Evangelism and 4) Growing in Stewardship.
I believe we are heading in the right direction. We have more to do for the Lord and we will get there.
I believe God is blessing this church. As we continue to be faithful to Him, he will continue to bless us.
Please pray for our church and the decisions that lie ahead of us.
All For Christ,
PJ

“The writing is on the wall”. This quote is usually a prophecy of bad news. Not for me! Outside my office several people have left me encouraging and hilarious messages that I really enjoy reading each day when I come into my office.
The “writing on the wall” future for Pam and I here at Calvary is “a lot more blessings to come!” I also believe the “writing on the wall” for Calvary is continued blessings from God.
November is the month we traditionally focus on the blessings God has given us. This November Pam and I are extra thankful for our family here at Calvary. May each of you have a blessed Thanksgiving day this year.
God Bless,
Pastor Tim
November Sermon Series
It’s my goal to preach relevant sermon series that meet the needs of real people. I assure you it’s easier said than done. My series for November will be: Greed, Power and Things. Our Love Affair with Dirty Sexy Money.
I realize that anytime a minister preaches about finances it will turn off some attenders. But I also realize that it is an important time that provides the opportunity for amazing spiritual growth. Plan on attending and praying that God will speak to you.
All Church Prayer Meeting
On Saturday November 15, you are invited to an all church prayer vigil in the sanctuary. You can stop by the church to pray anytime between 9 am and 5 pm. You are encouraged to come pray for the church and the direction we should go in.
You have heard it said that prayer prepares you for the greater work. This is an incorrect statement. Because prayer IS the greater work.
Come to the church and pray on the 15th.

Calvary Baptist Website
Have you ever wanted to learn about keeping up a web page? I could use some help on the church’s site. If you are interested please let Darlene Freeman know. I also need pictures from this year activities. Everyone takes pictures of their children or a special activity of the ladies, men or BLAST group. Let’s all work together to improve our website.

Calvary Seniors
There were 19 of us that went to the Cowboy Church last month. It was very entertaining and enjoyed by all in spite of several members of the band being absent. We’ll go again at a later date.
Our next meeting will be on November 20th at our church. It will be a “carry-in” meal. We plan to eat at 11:30 a.m. This will give you ladies a chance to use the recipes in the new cookbook!
We will have a speaker following lunch. Also bring a favorite game for later in the afternoon.
Hope to see you there and God bless you all!

It's that time of
year again to start thinking about making the Christmas season a happy time for
children less fortunate. The AB Girls of Faith and Hope will once again be
collecting shoeboxes over the first few weekends of November until Sunday
morning, November 23rd.
How can you help??? You can fill a shoebox, help with postage, pray for the
people involved and just lift up this ministry with your prayers for Samaritan's
Purse.
If you want to fill a shoebox all you need is to purchase a shoe sized plastic
tote, fill it with things a boy or girl would need or love and then put in money
for shipping if you can afford to. Bring the shoebox to church no later the
Sunday, the 23rd in the morning and the AB Girls group will take care of getting
it to the drop off center.
There is information on the table outside the sanctuary about the shoebox
ministry. This information includes age categories, items to include, items not
to include and just general information about it.
If you are interested and have further questions, please contact me.
Thanks,
Jen Parrish
